Baseball IQ caught my attention immediately as something extremely beneficial for all young players across the country. Growing up, I remember how bad I wanted to be a Major League Baseball Player. Having the ability to learn from someone playing at the level I wanted to get to and get their experience, knowledge, and advice would have been super helpful.
Why will You Be a Good Mentor?
I have dealt with a ton of adversity during my rise to the MLB. I made a ton of mistakes along that way as well. My story will resonate with the next generation and help them understand just what it takes to become a pro. The modern player needs a mentor that can be honest with them and help them deal with the ups and downs of a season - which I am looking forward to doing.Ā
What did You Struggle with the Most Growing Up?
Training. Training for too long, and training too easy, instead of being clear on what I was trying to accomplish. I tended to train to feel good instead of training to perform better in the game. I can help players shift their perspective from wanting glory/fame to loving the work & process. It's about diving into you and your love for the challenge, not the accolades or social media bliss.
